Tours

I’d Paddle It won’t drop you off at waters edge and say see you in a few hours. I will personally guide you to places where most visitors didn’t even know existed.

necky amaruk tandem

I’m Marty Johnson and this is one of my kayaks, an 18′ tandem. She’s an extremely capable and comfortable Necky Amaruk.
My tours/adventures are one on one. No floating school buses filled with strangers sitting eight feet above water listening to and smelling outboard engines and other people. No microphone blaring. Nothing at all to scare or disturb Mother Nature’s creatures. No noises here other than a paddle slapping the water. What you can see and hear from a kayaks vantage point is nothing short of the spectacular. Seeing and hearing the Dolphin coming up for air, fish jumping within a few feet from you.
As said again below somewhere, I don’t want you going home telling friends and family what you saw or what you experienced. I want you going home unable to describe the time you spent on the water. I’ve been there and I’ve done that. I’ve not been able to put many of the experiences into words either. It’s the tell tale sign of what everyone needs to see and feel. An adventure. And it’s a lot easier than you ever imagined.
I hope it’s a different experience for you. Really different!

Price:
beached on my own temporary island
We price things a little differently here. You tell me what you think it’s worth after the trip. I can’t exactly charge the same for the Gulf going for miles than I can a lake where you might just want to sit and bird watch.
Distance traveled you will have a large part in. If you wish to help power the kayak we’ll go much further I can tell you that. I don’t mind doing all of the work, just understand the distance will be much less. Please don’t think that whatever traveled won’t be beautiful though. I know of some really spectacular places to experience.

Where:
venus, yak, me
We have some really nice places to paddle a kayak in West Central Florida. Lakes such as Panasofkee, the Apopka chain and Lake Rousseau just around the corner. If slow meandering rivers are what you would like to paddle, we have the Withlacoochee, Rainbow, Crystal, and Chassahowitzka Rivers just to name a few… and of course my favorite. The Gulf of Mexico coastline. It’s your choice though and once you choose, you tell me what direction and we’ll be off. If you need some help in deciding, I’ll have an idea or two having paddled the area extensively over the years.

When:
beautiful rene beautiful sunset
Putting in an hour or two before sunset has always been a favorite time for me. A bit of daylight, a beautiful sunset and a twilight paddle back to shore. That said, a sunrise is also nice. Come to think of it, it’s always a good time to get paddled. Once again, the choice is all yours.
note: I have a lot of experience in night time paddles. Obviously the view is limited but it’s a lot of fun hearing a Dolphin surface a few feet from you when your only light source is the moonlight. Full moon paddles are an experience. Full moon, clear evening, the salt air… it’s just spectacular!

Why:
put in ft islandBecause Mother Nature is just beautiful and seeing her up close in a kayak is just spectacular.
No two adventures are ever the same. Always different wildlife, a brilliant sunset. The currents and waves that help you just wander away time. It’s just amazing.

What To Bring:
full moon
You must bring water and a good attitude. I also recommend a camera and a great memory. Other items are handy but lets figure where we’re going first as needs change with the area paddled.

What I Bring:
PFD’s, paddles, UHF ship to shore radio, water, all kinds of really handy items including a kayak and some paddles. All that’s needed for a fun and safe trip including a fair amount of knowledge of the area you and I would be floating around in.

What To Leave Behind:
Current events, the rat race and any all bad vibes. Yes, those stay somewhere else far far away. Radio’s, headphones? A big no. My trips are meant to be escapes from all that.
To show you what I experience on my solo paddles… it’s the meaning behind all of this. To have you back on shore unable to describe the peace you experienced.

Special Needs:
Please, give me a ring if you need transportation or anything at all really. I’m here to help you in any possible way that I can.
